The Centre for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIS) at the University of Limerick is proud to celebrate the success of our PhD researcher Hedieh Sigaroudi, who has recently defended a doctoral thesis titled:
“A New Methodology for Robotic Manipulator Control Based on Imitation.”
The research presents a novel approach to controlling robotic manipulators using imitation learning, contributing to the advancement of more adaptable and intelligent robotic systems. This work is particularly relevant in fields where human-robot interaction and skill transfer are essential, such as advanced manufacturing, assistive technologies, and autonomous operations in complex environments.
The PhD journey was supervised by : Prof. Daniel Toal, Dr. Phillipe Santos, and Prof. Tiziana Margaria, whose guidance and mentorship were instrumental throughout the research process.
This research was made possible with the support of the Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence and the Centre for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIS).
The CRIS team wishes continued success to Hedieh in the next steps in her career journey.
