The UL CRIS Team is thrilled to be part of the consortium for the new Interreg project “Blue Point – Blue Economy for Marine Plastic.”

This ambitious initiative aims to tackle the issue of marine plastics and transform it into an opportunity to establish a Blue Circular Economy in the regions of Gipuzkoa, Cantabria, Asturias, Portugal, France, and Ireland.

The project’s goal is to create an ecosystem of collaboration, innovation, entrepreneurship, and internationalization, fostering the marine plastic value chain and emerging business opportunities. The ultimate aim is to establish a replicable circular economy model in the Atlantic region.

Comprising 13 partners, the Consortium has emerged as an international cooperation entity to foster the retrieval and reutilisation of marine plastics. Dr. Gerard Dooly will lead the UL project team.

We are looking forward to participating in this initiative.
